Foundation stone for the first phase of project as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) was laid at the entrance of the KBR Park here.
The function was attended by Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahamood Ali, state Ministers K T Rama Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Nayini Narsimha Reddy, P Mahender Reddy and Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao and others.
"Keeping this in mind and to facilitate citizens, road development projects at an estimated cost of Rs 20,000 crore will be taken up in a big way," Rao said.
"Irrespective of anybody's cooperation, this programme will go ahead," he quipped.

"Multi-level flyovers would be constructed at six junctions around KBR Park in the first phase with Rs 510 crore for hassle-free movement of the vehicular traffic to transform Hyderabad into a global city," the minister added.
Yadav said the multi-level flyovers around KBR Park would come up at junctions at KBR Park entrance, NTR Cancer Hospital, Maharaja Agrasen Circle, Filmnagar crossroad, Road No 45 and Jubilee Hills checkpost in the first pharse.
Dattatreya said infrastructure has to be developed on a large scale to make Hyderabad a global city.
Stating that multi-level flyovers would herald new era to the city, he said development and employment opportunities would grow along with increasing facilities.
