T'gana govt to spend Rs 30,000 cr on roads, skyways in Hyd

Telangana Government today said it would spend Rs 25,000-30,000 crore in a phased manner towards development of road and construction of skyways in Hyderabad, in a bid to give facelift to the capital city.
"For the development of roads, a three-pronged strategy- improvement of roads, new city development and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority area development, is necessary," a statement quoted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as saying.
Rao said that within the next two years the face of Hyderabad has to be changed through an integrated approach of developing the existing roads and constructing 5-6 integrated skyways with multiple layers of flyovers all over the city.

"For this an amount of Rs 25,000-30,000 crore would be spent by the government phase-wise," the chief minister said in the statement.
"The surroundings of Hyderabad are added with additional population every year and as such their growing needs are to be analysed," he added.
