T'gana police donate Rs 2.26 crore for 'Water Grid' project

Telangana police today said its officials have contributed their one-day salary amounting to Rs 2.26 crore for the 'Water Grid', an ambitious potable water project of the state government.
The policemen, from constables to the DGP, have donated their day's salary towards the project.
Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma presented a cheque to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard, a release from the DGP office said.
'Water Grid', one of Telangana government's flagship programmes is aimed at providing safe drinking water to all households across the state in the next three years.
The state government has floated the Telangana Drinking Water Supply Corporation with an aim to generate funds from international agencies for the project.
