TAFE launches JFARM Services mobile app

Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd.,(TAFE) today unveiled a mobile-application based aggregator platform, JFarm Services App, aimed at facilitating hiring of tractors and farm machinery for farmers in Rajasthan.
The city-based company launched the JFarm Services App during a Global Agritech Meet held in Rajasthan, a press release said.
The mobile application available on Google Play Store is free and will connect Custom Hiring Centres in Rajasthan and operated by tractors and equipment owners directly to farmers who need farm mechanisation services and solutions.
"This service will foster digital empowerment of Indian farmers while creating a breed of new rural entrepreneurs and significant job opportunities," the press release said.
In the pilot phase, the company said it added over 450 Custom Hiring Centres and connected over 25,000 farmers.
"With the JFarm Services mobile app, TAFE aims to empower the farming community by creating a viable model for the farmers and custom hirers to conduct transactions in a fair manner," TAFE, Chairman and CEO, Mallika Srinivasan said.
"These initiatives are directed towards building a sustainable livelihood for farmers, while preparing them to remain self-sufficient by increasing farm productivity," she said.
In the first two years of operations, TAFE President and COO, T R Kesavan said, through the JFarm Services aggregator, the company plans to enrol 10,000 to 15,000 custom hiring centres and reaching out to five lakh farmers.
