Uttar Pradesh government today directed officials concerned to take action for curbing rumour mongering over salt scarcity and said their is no shortage of salt.
Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar today ordered officials concerned to ensure that no law and order situation arises in the wake of rumours about salt scarcity and assured that there is no shortage of salt and people need not panic.
In directives issued to all the administrative and police officials of the state, the chief secretary asked for carrying out raids, in case, some traders try to take advantage of the situation and indulge in black marketing or hoarding, an official statement released here said.
Making an appeal to people to not pay heed to such rumours, he also asked officials to ensure that proper publicity about availability of salt is undertaken to make people aware about the real situation.
