PMK President G K Mani, in his petition, said he had sent a representation to the Governor on February 17, 2015, attaching 'proof' of corruption charges against some ministers and officials of various departments. He had requested the Governor to initiate action in accordance with power bestowed on the constitutional post.
He contended that despite the representation, the Governor had failed to take action. As such, he prayed that the court direct the Governor's Secretary to submit details of the action taken on the complaint
Mani also alleged there was corruption in construction and building approvals, appointments in education sector, liquor business, recruitment of transport employees, solar power-driven green house projects and in granting permission to the Coca Cola plant.
Admitting the petition, Justice M Sathyanarayanan adjourned the matter to June 9.
