The AWOs have been asked to coordinate with respective Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) under their jurisdictions to undertake the drive and awareness campaign, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said in an order.
All central government employees have already been asked to be present in their offices on October 2 to take cleanliness pledge as part of 'Swachh Bharat or Clean India' campaign, a mass movement aimed at cleaning the country.
The employees will be administered 'Swachhata Shapath' (pledge of cleanliness) in government offices, public functions and events on October 2, as per the directive issued by Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth to all central government secretaries.
