In the circular issued on Monday to the principals of all the government colleges, Joint Secretary (Academics) of College Education Directorate Bandana Chakravarti said permission to take students on educational tour to the Tirth, to enhance knowledge and develop a sense of patriotism and duty, is granted.
The tours would be organised according to availability of funds with the colleges, it stated.
Meanwhile, former state education minister and Congress leader Bhanwar Lal Meghwal alleged that the BJP government in the state was trying to "impose" its ideology on students which is "unfair".
BJP MLA Jogaram Patel said the state government's move would develop a sense of patriotism among the students.

"This is a good initiative and students will be able to get detailed information about Maharana Pratap and the history of Mewar," he said.
The Tirth was started by Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Samiti which provides information about Maharana Pratap of Mewar and the past and ancient heritage of the place with the help of modern instruments.
Its website said the prime motivation behind the project is veteran Sangh Pracharak Sohan Singh who wanted that Maharana Pratap should be the icon for the youth.
