Take up challenges in healthcare sector as a mission: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today asked the health department to take up challenges in the healthcare sector in a mission mode to achieve desired results in a stipulated period.
Khattar was presiding over a meeting of General Body of State Health Mission (National Health Mission) here.
He directed the officials to implement Aadhaar linked immunisation programme of children in the state to identify and cover left out children.
"Haryana is the first state in the country which has started Aadhar linked birth registration programme in the state. Under this, 92.7 per cent children between zero and five years of age have so far been covered in the state," an official release said.
While reviewing the progress of Mobile Medical Units (MMU), Khattar asked officials to explore possibilities of launching more such units to provide essential medical services in remote areas of the state.
At present, nine MMUs are providing services in the state. He also asked the officers to conduct mapping of health services to make healthcare facilities more cost effective.
Also approval was given to grant financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to the family of deceased employee working under state and district health societies as per government policy and 10 medical leaves to contractual employees working under National Health Mission in the state.
Finance Minister Abhimanyu stressed on the need to strengthen the Referral Transport System.
