India today said it was in discussion with Pakistan to finalise the dates for the meetings of the third round of resumed dialogue.
Recalling Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's special envoy Shaharyar M Khan's recent visit to India, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said "we exchanged views and he has gone back with an understanding of our views on this. We will take it up when we receive the response from Pakistan on that".
Khan had during his visit this month met with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and top officials here.
"The third round of resumed dialogue started in September with meetings of Commerce Secretaries. Another meeting was scheduled for Wullar barrage and that did not happen.
"That is the meeting now which needs to be taken forward along with various other meetings in resumed dialogue format," he said.
The spokespeson, who was addressing his weekly press conference, said "we are in discussions through diplomatic channels".
During Khan's visit, he had delivered a letter from Sharif to Singh "conveying Pakistan's sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India".
