Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is happy that Tamil cinema is coming out of its repetitive content.
The "Satya" director, 53, who is known for his work in Telugu cinema and Bollywood, said he is impressed by the trailer of the upcoming war drama "Kanche" that stars Varun Tej.
"Really Happy to see Telugu cinema growing up from irritating repetitiveness of cliches... Congrats to Krish (director) and Varun," he posted on Twitter.
Krish last directed Akshay Kumar-starrer "Gabbar is Back" in Bollywood.
Varun, who made his film debut last year with Tamil movie "Mukunda", is the son of actor-producer Chiranjeevi's brother Naga Babu.
"Very impressed with the raw intensity and searing realism in both Varun Tej's expressions and also his body language," Varma wrote.
"From whatever I saw of him I think Varun Tej will be a great son and will make up for what his father Naga babu Garu couldn't do," he added.
Varma's hit Telugu films were "Siva", "Gaayam" and "Money", which later remade as "Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega" in Bollywood.
