Alleging that she had been meted out injustice by her husband and pro-Tamil leader Thiyagu, who has deserted her, noted Tamil lyricist Thamarai today began an "indefinite sit-in protest" here along with her 12-year-old son
seeking his return to home.
"Without informing anyone he stealthily disappeared from home on 23 November last year. I want him to come back," Thamarai told PTI, adding, an "inquiry" should be held against him in the presence of eminent leaders of the pro-Tamil movement.
While Thamarai is a popular Tamil lyricist having penned about 500 lyrics including "Kangal Irandal," her husband Thiyagu, better known as "Thozhar" Thiyagu is a noted pro-Tamil leader and they got married in 2002. The couple have a 12-year-old son Samaran.
Alleging that Thiyagu, had been making preparations to quit home for the past five years, the lyricist said she had undergone untold harassment.
She had written to pro-Tamil leaders including MDMK chief Vaiko, Nedumaran, Tamilaruvi Manian, Velmurugan, and the May 17 Movement on the Thiyagu's unacceptable deeds and sought justice, she said.

As there was no response, she had to resort to protest mode, she added.
"I will not knock the doors of judiciary for the injustice heaped on me and rather will only accept a societal solution," she said, adding, she will not end her protest till such time her plea was heard.
"Who will try to get out of home? Only when it becomes a prison. When incompatibility cannot be resolved, only parting ways could be a civilised solution," Thiyagu said when his reaction was sought.
