Tani Happa Village declared as 'Artist Village'

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi today declared a village situated along the Assam-Arunachal border as 'Artist Village' of the state, as majority of the villagers are artisans and earn their living by selling home made products.
Tani Happa Village in Papum Pare district with an approximate population of 1000, is known for making exotic tribal beads (Used in necklaces) and supply the products to the entire state.
Negi, accompanied by state Tourism Secretary and a host of officials visited the village and interacted with the people.
The Chief Secretary also asked Likha Maj, chairman of Arunachal Pradesh State Rubber Board (APSRB) who owns a rubber plantation and a nursery near the village to open a cafeteria so that the tourists could relish.
Beda assured to develop the village into a rural tourism destination of the state and to promote the products through various market linkages.
