Officers are directed to ensure time-bound completion of development works on all projects, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said while conducting a detailed inspection tour of different works in the city.
Expressing displeasure with the slow pace of work and poor sanitation in Jammu, he directed the concerned authorities to undertake continuous monitoring of the progress of work and passed instructions to Chief Engineer, Urban Environment Engineering Department (UEED) to report the progress of different works to Commissioner Housing and the Urban Development Department.
He directed executing agencies to gear up resources for early completion of left over work at STP besides laying of the main trunk sewer, laterals and house connections.
Taking a serious view of the haphazard constructions at different city locations, he directed Commissioner, JMC, to present the cases for scrutiny by higher authorities.
During inspection of the Jammu Bus Stand, Tara Chand expressed deep displeasure at the poor sanitation and encroachments at the site.
