The girl, who was allegedly thrashed by Punjab policemen in full public view in the district when she sought action against some persons who teased her, today threatened to go on a hunger strike if the Government did not dismiss the officials immediately.
"I am going on fast-unto-death from Tuesday if Punjab Government failed to deliver justice by dismissing errant policemen by Monday who in full public view had thrashed me mercilessly like an animal," the 22-year-old victim said.
She alleged that her family is being pressurised to withdraw complaint against the policemen.
"This is a height of atrocities as my father and brother are constantly being pressurised from various corners to withdraw complaint against the policemen," the victim alleged in a chocked voice.
She said that so far only two policemen were suspended whereas there were eight cops involved in the beating incident.
"I strongly demand action against the errant policemen who assaulted me and my father. They should be dismissed. I demand that the matter must be investigated," the victim woman added.
The girl in her complaint had alleged that while she along with her father was coming home after attending a marriage function on March 7 a truck driver and his accomplices started to tease her besides passing vulgar comments.
When she and her father approached the nearby police picket, both were beaten up by the policemen on duty, who allegedly let off the accused after accepting bribe, the girl alleged in her complaint.
