Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today condemned the CBI raid at the residents of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and termed it as a "vindictive" action by the Centre.
"I strongly condemn this act. The BJP government at Centre is very vindictive. It is using the machinery for their own gains," Gogoi told a press conference here.
He pointed out that no action has been initiated against Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan despite having serious charges.
"Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje have been involved in so many big scams. Why has no action been taken against them? It is a discriminatory attitude," Gogoi said.
CBI today carried out searches at 11 places in connection with an alleged disproportionate assets case against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
The searches at Delhi, Shimla and others places started within minutes of the 81-year-old Singh leaving his official residence for Sankat Mochan temple here at 7:30 AM to solemnise the marriage of his daughter.
