Tata Capital's PE fund invests Rs 300 cr in Varroc Engineering

Tata Capital's private equity fund, Tata Opportunities Fund, has invested Rs 300 crore in auto component manufacturer Varroc Engineering Pvt Ltd.
This is the first investment by Tata Opportunities Fund outside the Tata group.
"The fund seeks to play a supportive role in assisting team at Varroc in expanding its franchise with existing and new customers and new segments across geographies," the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the investment, Varroc founder and Managing Director Tarang Jain said: "The Tata opportunities fund will not only bolster us financially, but also provide us a strategic spring-board which enables us leapfrog into the next cycle of our growth."
Varroc is Rs 6,900-crore revenue company with global operations. The company has manufacturing plants in all major auto hubs across India, Mexico, China and the Czech Republic.
