The company, fourth largest player in Tamil Nadu, has made a turnover of Rs 950 crore in the state, 90 per cent of which from Pre-Paid connections, with rural areas accounting for 15 per cent, Tata Teleservices Ltd Tamil Nadu Circle Mobility Business Head Balaji Prakash told reporters here.
As part of its growth plan, the company planned to take the number of distributors to 400 from the present 280 in rural areas in the next six months and the total in the state to 25,000 from 18,000.
It has come out with value for money paper recharge coupon at Rs 25 (full talk time of Rs 25) at Rs 15 (100 MB data) Rs 39 for 250 MB of data with a validity of 30 days, he said.
When asked about rural penetration and expected increase, he said the present eight per cent to 10 per cent penetration would go up to 14 per cent to 15 per cent this fiscal.
To a question on Mobile Number Portability, the official said that while two per cent from the company was going out and five per cent was coming in.
