The company has also agreed to collaborate with Siemens in India, to develop dual vocational education training to support skill development in the country.
“We at present impart vocational training to nearly 40,000 individuals every year across the group. But we now intent to increase it to 5,00,000 every year,” Cyrus Mistry, chairman, Tata Sons said addressing a gathering at the international trade fair in Hanover.

Mistry said India has 10 million individuals, who have to come into the workforce and it is unthinkable all can be employed unless there is strong vocational training. “We are now talking about vocational training in the manufacturing sector. But there is lot to be done in multiple sectors including services, agriculture. There is a lot to be done and a lot can be learned from Germany.”
He further said the country will witness customisation in the training space as per the requirements. There will also be diversity in training with more women being included.
