The award was given to Tata Motors in recognition of its continued commitment and efforts towards improvement in energy efficiency, reduction in carbon emission and implementation of various energy conservation projects at a function organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) last week at Hyderabad, company spokesman Ranjit Kumar Dhar in a statement here today said.
The Jamshedpur plant had achieved the award on four earlier occasions.
This year's competition had over 248 companies participating in various categories such as Automobile and Manufacturing, Buildings, Cement, Metals and Steel, General, Power and Paper and Sugar, out of which 127 companies were invited for the final presentation round in Hyderabad on September 2 and 3.
Ajay Mathur, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India and Naushad Forbes, president-designate, CII presented the award consisting of a shield and certificate to the Tata Motors Jamshedpur team, the release added.
