Tata Motors shares rise 2.5% on higher June sales

Shares of Tata Motors ended with over 2.5 per cent gains today after the company reported an 8 per cent growth in sales in June.
The stock gained 2.40 per cent to settle at Rs 468.90 on BSE. During the day, it rose by 3.69 per cent to Rs 474.80.
At NSE, shares of the company went up by 2.53 per cent to close at Rs 469.50.
On the volume front, eight lakh shares of the company were traded at BSE and over 84 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.
The sales figures were announced post market hours on Friday.
Tata Motors reported an 8 per cent growth in sales at 44,276 units in June. The company had sold 40,869 in the same month last year.

Domestic sales of Tata Motors' commercial and passenger vehicles rose 8 per cent to 38,673 units in June over the same month of the previous year.
Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market stood at 12,509 units last month, as against 10,281 in the year-ago period, Tata Motors had said in a statement.
As for passenger cars, the sales grew 37 per cent to 11,705 units in June compared with 8,516 in the year-ago period.
