As per the agreement, both firms would jointly develop a range of commercial and retail, residential, healthcare and tourism and leisure projects across India.
"This is a very strategic partnership given the growth opportunities we see in the social infrastructure sector in the country. Being a leading player in the sector, Brookfield will provide its expertise and technical know-how, while we will execute the projects," Tata Projects Managing Director Vinayak Deshpande told reporters here today.
The company will focus on developing high-end projects and will be selective in bidding for any project.
The company will initially focus on contracts from the private sector and in select metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata.
"We (Tata Projects and Brookfield) have already bagged substantial contracts including a healthcare project in Kolkata, developing commercial properties in Noida, Gurgaon and Kolkata and a residential project in Bangalore where we will construct five towers," he said.
