The Dravyavati river project for the revival and area development of Amanishah nullah in the city would be completed this year, executing agency Tata Projects said today.
The project would be completed this year. It is one of its kind projects in which treated sewage water will be used for recharging the river, a Tata Projects official said today.
The Jaipur Development Authority has awarded the Rs 1,676 crore contract to a consortium of Tata Projects and Shanghai Urban Construction Group to complete the Dravyavati River Project.
The project seeks to develop an ecosystem which can withstand general public use, and revive the waters of the Dravyavati river which has reduced to the form of Amanishah Nullah.
The Tata Projects official said that representatives from various states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have visited the project site for exploring scope for implementing similar project in their states.
The total length of the nullah which originates from the western slopes of Nahargarhh-Amer hills and flows through the west side of the city is 47.5 km. There are 82 major and hundreds of minor drains that discharge sewage into the nullah.
He said that five sewage treatment plants (STP) have been planned with a cumulative capacity of 170 megalitres per day. On the river banks, provisions have been made for planting approximately 16,000 trees, shrubs and ornaments plants. Three fully landscaped parks and other public facilities will also be developed under the project.
