Participants were given the task which consisted of refining an order of high strength steel billets using Secondary Steelmaking Simulation at the Grand Finale took place on 19th February last at Brussels, according to a Tata Steel press release here today.
They had two-and-a-half hours to produce the steel at the minimum cost while maintaining the levels of impurities and inclusions within specifications.
At the end of the highly charged and intense contest, the Regional Champions Kausik Tamuli and Animesh Kumar Singh from Tata Steel India emerged victorious in the 'Industry' category and were declared World Champions.
