This year also witnessed 100 per cent increase in the number of manufacturing/retail and FMCG companies visiting the campus for offering internships, Public Relations and Placement Chairperson Prof Sharad Nath Bhattacharya said.
Ratnakar Bank and Tata Steel made nine and eight offers respectively, he added.
He said sales and marketing emerged as the most sought after domain, with 30 per cent of the total offers being made in this domain, including one international offer by the Tolaram Group.
Other major companies that came to the campus for offering internships were Mahindra GMC, Aditya Birla Group, Nomura, HSBC, Cognizant Business Consulting, GSK Pharmaceuticals, Sapient Global Markets, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, IBM, Wipro, Hero MotoCorp and FCB Ulka, among others.
While 61 companies made 174 offers across various domains this year, the highest stipend offer was of Rs 1.6 lakh in the sales and marketing sector.
The average total stipend witnessed a significant jump of 25 per cent from the previous year, he said.
