Tata Trust has special desire to work for "mother and child health" sector in different states, and this would be first begin in Rajasthan, an official spokesman said here quoting the chairman.
Raje and Tata held a special meeting at CMO (Chief Minister's Office) here, in which Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Rajendra Rathore was also present.
Tata desired to make Rajasthan a model state in 'mother and child health' care, and later it would be adopted in other states with the governments' support and collaboration, the official quoted Tata as saying.
She also stressed that her government's priority was to improve medical and health care in systematic fashion so that common man should get its benefit.
Raje said the infant mortality rate in Rajasthan was still on higher side and posing challenge to the government. Reducing maternal mortality rate (specially of pregnant women) was too a big task for the government, and for it special training programme for para-medical staff was being taken up, she added.
