The Central region is home to 65 per cent of the nation's tribal population.
As part of this the 125-year-old Tata Trusts launched, through its associate organisation Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives, a new scheme for the tribal women and children in Ranchi yesterday.
The programme involved bringing 101,000 tribal households out of poverty by developing 17 tribal blocks as regional drivers for growth across Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Odisha.
The Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has said its cotton futures contract clocked highest ever turnover of Rs 407.65 crore on Thursday.

"The Rs 407.65 crore turnover on Thursday was the highest amongst all agri-commodities across exchanges," MCX said in a statement. Its cotton contract average daily volume in March stood at 1.40 lakh bales compared to 0.75 lakh bales a year ago, an increase of over 86 per cent.
Average daily turnover on MCX cotton futures increased to Rs 298 crore in March, up 148 per cent from Rs 120 crore in March 2016.
Indore-based Infobeans Technologies initial public offer was oversubscribed by over 31 times on the last day of the issue today. The issue is being raised through the Emerge platform of the NSE.
Qualified institutional buyers subscribed for 1.71 times while non-institutional investors subscribed over 190 times. The issue received bids for over 19 crore shares, as per the NSE website data.
The company has fixed an issue price of Rs 58.
