Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR) will soon induct a batch of 25 fresh graduates to assist it in writing news and handling social media.
"Tata Trust will hire the freshers and will pay them a stipend of Rs 25,000 a month (under its CSR activity). They will be inducted into the government for a year," said Director General of Information and Publicity Department Brijesh Singh.
Tata Trusts had received around 250 applications for the job, he added.
Singh, who is an IPS officer, said he was planning to change the perception that DGIPR was more oriented towards Marathi newspapers.

"The freshers will write copies in Marathi, English, Hindi, Gujarati and Urdu as well. We expect they will help us in an efficient dissemination of news," he said.
The department's Hindi and Urdu publications were already a hit, he said. "Urdu Lokrajya (government-published magazine) has been proved to be a successful medium to take government schemes to minorities," he said.
The publicity department has sometimes come under fire for being slow and not keeping pace with changing times.
