The body of Paras Bhasin (23) was recovered from Pandav Nagar railway tracks on Saturday with police initially claiming it to be a case of suicide.

Paras' family, however, alleged that he was murdered by the girl's family. They alleged the girl's father got him killed as he did not approve of the relationship.

Satish Mittal, the father of the girl whom Paras secretly married, said, "We are being framed. The allegations are false."

Mittal alleged Paras had tried to commit suicide several times.

He said their consent was not taken for the marriage and "my daughter Shelly told me that Paras has threatened her that he will commit suicide".

Mittal said the family was "not completely convinced" for the marriage and so they asked Paras "to get a proper job".

"I met Paras only on August 29," he said.

Mittal said his daughter told him about the marriage recently and he did not believe it first.

"It was around August 23 that I came to know that Shelly had an affair with a boy. I did not oppose but I asked to think again. We were already looking for a groom for her. One day Shelly called me and said she was sitting on the track and was about to commit suicide. I pleaded with her to come back and promised to do whatever she asks me to do," he claimed.

Mittal said it was not right to say they were seeing each other for six years. He said his daughter knew that her family would never have accept an inter-caste marriage.

"We didn't accept the marriage. We never attended it," he said.

Two days ago, Shelly had provided police with a suicide note jointly written by her and Paras in August.

Police said they were treating the case as that of murder.

"The case is still open. There is no point in rushing into a conclusion. We are treating it as a murder case. We have examined the girl. She has given us a suicide note. We will corroborate and verify it. We will conduct an independent and thorough probe into the incident," DCP (Crime) Sanjay Kumar Jain had said yesterday.
