TB still a major public health challenge: Najeeb Jung
Press Trust of India New Delhi Tuberculosis continues to be a major public health challenge and there is a need for generating mass awareness about the curability of the disease, Lt Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung said today.
"Tuberculosis is a major public health challenge and ignorance about the fact that the disease is curable is also one reason for its higher incident," the Lt Governor said at the launch of 64th state level TB Seal Sale Campaign of the Delhi Tuberculosis Association.
Jung asks the city residents to contribute their mite for prevention and control of tuberculosis as well as the welfare of TB patients by making contributions to the Delhi Tuberculosis Association.
The sale proceeds of these campaigns are utilised by the association for creation of general awareness about tuberculosis, providing welfare measures including financial grant to the needy patients and other activities pertaining to prevention and control of of the disease in the disadvantaged and marginalised communities.
