A large number of TDP MLAs and MLCs met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his office in the Secretariat over the ongoing issue of acute power shortage in the state and sought a concrete assurance from him to address the problem.
They refused to leave the conference hall at the CM's office as they purportedly did not get such an assurance, even as Reddy left from the Secretariat after meeting them.
They were forcefully removed from the place by police after midnight.
Talking to reporters after being taken out of the Secretariat, the TDP legislators condemned the "insensitive" attitude of the Chief Minister towards the power crisis.
Meanwhile, government sources said the Chief Minister received the TDP legislators as per prior appointment and also discussed the issue with them before leaving the Secretariat.
The sources pointed out that efforts are being made by the government to address the power shortage. They cited the example of NTPC agreeing to supply additional power to the state following a request made by the Chief Minister.
