Teachers failing to discharge duties to face action: Virbhadra

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today warned government school teachers in the state of action if they fail to discharge their duties sincerely and efficiently.
"A directorate of inspections would be set up. Regular and surprise inspections would be conducted to ensure that teachers did not remain absent and devote full time in teaching students," he said while presiding over an event to mark 70th foundation day of Bhumti in Arki Tehsil of Solan district.
Asserting that the state government is committed to provide quality education to all, Singh said 994 schools and 36 colleges have been opened or upgraded in the last three years. Besides free travelling facility is being provided to students of state government schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas.
The Chief Minister said he has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for adequate funds to panchayats, panchayats samitis and zila parishad as these were pillars democracy and nodal agencies for implementation of developmental projects at the grass-root level.
