The girl, a student of class X, was returning from her coaching classes last evening when Deepak Bairwa (22) took her to a nearby isolated field and allegedly raped her, SI Ashok Meena.
A case under section 376 (rape) of IPC and section 3, 4 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act was lodged against the youth and the girl sent to district hospital for medical examination today.
The victim's statement would be recorded before the magistrate today, police said, adding that efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused.
