The victim, Hemlata, lived with her family in W Block of Bindapur and she was taken to a hospital in Janakpuri by her mother Rajbala and other family members for a mysterious head injury she had received in the early morning of September 12.
The girl was declared brought dead by the doctors, who also informed the police after noticing a gun shot injury on her head, DCP (South West) R A Sanjeev said today.
A case of murder was registered at Bindapur police station. During investigation, police suspected the role of Mukesh Rathore, 32, who had been engaged three days before the murder as driving instructor to the girl.
Both the accused have been arrested and the murder weapon, a 7.65 mm pistol, and items looted from the girl have been recovered from them, he said.

Police said while giving driving lessons to the girl, Mukesh had learnt that her family had kept a large sum received from sale of a property, at their house. He hatched a conspiracy, along with Mohit, to kill the whole family and loot the money.
The duo reached the house of the girl at 5 am on September 12, and Mukesh called her out for driving session. When she came and sat in the car, Mukesh shot her in head, the police officer said.
