underway here today with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurating projects worth Rs 73 crore around the lake.
He said propelling Tehri to the top of the state's adventure tourism map was among the priorities of his government.
"We want to develop the Tehri lake as the leading adventure tourism destination in the state so that visitors coming to the state first come to Tehri before heading for popular destinations like Mussoorie," he said addressing the gathering on the occasion.
Jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, para-gliding and para- ceiling competitive events were held as part of the festival in which teams from Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand participated.
Projects worth Rs 73 crore were also inaugurated by the Chief Minister to mark the occasion which included a games hostel, floating huts and eco log huts.
Speaking at the event Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai said the Tehri lake will soon become a medium to provide direct and indirect employment to over 20,000 people.
