Tehsildar arrested for accepting bribe
Press Trust of India Jaipur A Tehsildar and three other officials of tehsil headquarter at Chauth-Ka-Barwara in Sawaimadhopur district were arrested today by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on the charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 to issue a house registry paper.
Tehsildar Mohanlal, Reader Ramesh Chandra, peon Ameemudeen of Chauth-ka-barwara tehsil headquarter, and their agent Ghasiaram were arrested on charges of accepting bribe, an ACB spokesperson said.
The arrests were made after one Najrudeen lodged a complaint against Tehsildar Mohanlal for demanding a bribe of Rs 9,000 for issuing the registry paper in his wife's name, and the deal was settled at Rs 5,000 through Ghasiram, the spokesman said.
A case under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was lodged against them and investigation is underway, the spokesperson said.
