A senior revenue official has been attached by authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district for misleading the administration about whereabouts of a man who was washed away by flash floods.
Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Mohammad Aijaz Asad ordered attachment of Tehsildar Surankote and withholding of his salary for misleading the administration about the man's whereabouts, for leaving station without prior permission and dereliction of duties, a spokesperson of the district administration said today.
He said the officer concerned has been directed to report in the office of assistant commissioner revenue, Poonch, with immediate effect while Naib Tehsildar Surankote was given the charge of his post.
