Telangana accident victim's kin to get Rs 5 lakh from Govt

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today agreed to give an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the family of a teenager who was killed in a road accident last week.
Rao took the decision after Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy met the CM and appealed him to provide an ex- gratia of Rs 5 lakh and a house to the family of the victim.
The teenager, who was on a two-wheeler, died on Janaury 14 after he was hit by a vehicle alloted to Indrakaran Reddy in Nirmal town of the State, police had said.
Reddy met the Chief Minister today, said an official release said.
Rao has agreed to give an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh to the next of the kin of the teenager, it said.
Reddy also requested Rao that the family of the deceased be provided a double bedroom house under a Government scheme for the poor, it added.
Neither Reddy nor any of his family members was travelling in the car at the time of the mishap, an aide of the Minister had said.
