Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today assured necessary support and help from the state government for the CPI(M)'s five-day national conference here from April 18.

CPI(M) Politburo member B V Raghavulu and CPI(M) Telangana state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram met Rao here, a release from the chief minister's office said.

The CPI(M) leaders told Rao that the conference would be held in the city for five days from April 18 in which Kerala Chief Minister and former chief ministers of West Bengal and Tripura, besides other national leaders would take part, it said.

"The CPI(M) requested for help and cooperation from the government for the proposed conference. For this, the chief minister positively responded and extended all the required help and cooperation. The CPI(M) leaders thanked the CM for the same," it said.

Rao, who has recently favoured forging a non-Congress, non-BJP alternative in national politics and bringing a qualitative change in politics, explained the cause to the CPI(M) leaders, it said.

"The CPI(M) leaders have agreed with the CMs views. They also appreciated the CM for taking an initiative to being in qualitative change in the country. They said there is a need for a change in the countrys political scenario," the release added.
