Telangana CM hands approval letters to 19 industrial units

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today handed over letters of approval to set up 19 units by private companies under the state's new industrial policy -- TS-IPASS.
The units will come up in Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Medak and Warangal districts with a total investment of Rs 1,087.37 crore and provide jobs to 5,321 people, an official release said.
The units include pharmaceutical formulations, manufacturing of helicopter cabin kits, steel and iron alloy castings, footwear accessories and cellphones, among others, it said.
While releasing the Industrial Policy last month, Rao promised that all clearances to investors will be given within 10 days of their applications.
Accordingly, phase-1 approval letters were given away last month and these are phase-2 ones, it added.
