Rao spoke to the Khammam district Collector and told him to provide necessary help to people in villages where the Godavari river water has entered, an official release said here.
The Chief Minister has asked the Collector to forewarn the villagers which are likely to face flooding and provide necessary help, it said.
Rao also enquired about rising water level in the temple town of Bhadrachalam.
The CM enquired about rising Godavari water level in districts like Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad and directed that officials should be on alert, the release added.

Meanwhile, a second warning has been issued at a barrage in Dowaleswaram in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district.
The Godavari water level touched 13.75 feet at the Dowleswaram barrage against its full reservoir level (FRL) of 24 feet, Superintendent Engineer (Dowleswaram irrigation circle) S Suguna Rao told PTI in Rajahmundry.
"The water level at the barrage has been increasing since morning due to heavy rains in its catchment areas. River Godavari is receiving heavy inflows from these areas and at present its water level is 13.75 feet which is likely to touch 15 feet by tonight," Rao said.
