Telangana continues to receive good rains

Telangana continued to receive good rainfall with Kothagudem in Khammam district and several other places getting five cms of rain, the IMD said here today.
South West monsoon has been normal over the state during the last 24 hours, the IMD said.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places over Telangana, it said in its forecast for Telangana during the next five days.
The rainfall during the last several days, heavy in Hyderabad and some other places for a few days, affected normal life as low-lying areas were inundated at some places. Rivulets and other water bodies were in spate due to the rainfall.

Water-logging was reported in Hyderabad and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) began repairs to the damaged roads. GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy has held meetings with engineers and other staff.
State Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao, who held a meeting with officials, said road repair works be taken up comprehensively during the next three months, an official release said.
He said cement roads be laid in the fly-overs and 'Skyways' proposed to be constructed by the state government, it added.
