Rao, who kicked off the scheme at an event at Kondapaka in Siddipet district, said rural economy would get a boost if farmers and traditional occupations are strengthened.
He said 1.50 lakh crore sheep would be distributed in the state to the beneficiaries. 7,61,000 applications have been received from across the state and 7,18,000 units have been sanctioned. Each unit comprises 21 sheep.
The government initiated the scheme with Rs 4,000 crore, Rao said, adding that the beneficiaries would create a wealth of Rs 25,000 crore in the coming three years.
