'Free Hearse Service' was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy and others at the state-run Gandhi Hospital here.
The service would help poor patients who lack money to transport the bodies of their dear ones to home, the Ministers said.
The Government has readied 50 vehicles under the service to begin with and they will be available 24 hours.
The GVK Group, which manages the popular 108 emergency vehicles, would manage the 'hearse service' as well, a Government release said yesterday.
