Calling IPS officers leaders of the force, Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma today sought their help in preparing a road map and 'Vision Document' for the Police Department for the next 10 years.
Addressing SPs and CPs, who participated in a day-long session here, the DGP outlined the way forward for them and sought their contribution in preparing a road map and 'Vision Document' for the Police department for the next ten years.
Sharma said he envisaged a unified Telangana Police which worked seamlessly and delivered prompt, fair and efficient service to the citizens of Telangana, an official release said.
"This involves a smooth integration and interface between various districts/commissionerates, special units and the headquarters and a coordinated approach, with enhanced adoption of technology and advanced techniques in IT, Communications and automation - both in delivery of services, investigation and administration," he said.
The department also has to plan ahead and gear up for emerging challenges like cyber crime, online frauds, increasing influence of social media, economic offences. It also needs to tap into technological solutions like CCTNS/ ICJS (Integrated Criminal Justice System), linking of various databases and video-conferencing, Sharma said.
He underlined the need to enhance investigation capabilities and impart proper training to personnel.
