He was speaking after inaugurating the 14th edition of BioAsia - the annual flagship event of biotechnology and life sciences. This year, the theme of the three-day conference is 'Power of the Past, Force of the Future'.
On the occasion, Narasimhan presented Genome Valley Excellence Award to Nobel laureate Kurt Wuthrichand and Paul Stoffels, Worldwide Chairman Pharmaceuticals and Chief Scientific Officer of Johnson & Johnson for their immense contribution in the field of life sciences and healthcare, BioAsia said in a statement.
K T Rama Rao, Minister of IT and Industries, said the State capital has always been known as a top pharma destination worldwide.
Hyderabad is and will remain a pharma production and innovation hub for the world and the proposed Pharma City will strengthen its position significantly, Rao said.
Over 1,500 delegates from nearly 50 countries are taking part in the convention.
