The TDP's Telangana unit was today hit by reports that its state working president and MLA A Revant Reddy would soon join the Congress.
Amid reports that Revant Reddy met Congress vice- president Rahul Gandhi, senior leaders of the TDP's Telangana unit today held a meeting, which ended on a stormy note.
Senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu said he along with another leader Aravind Kumar Goud walked out of the meeting as Revant Reddy did not clarify on media reports that he met Gandhi.
"It was reported in the media that he (Revant Reddy) met Rahul Gandhi. We condemn that. I asked him (Revant Reddy) did you meet Rahul Gandhi? Nobody can meet (leaders of other parties) without the knowledge of Chandrababu Naidu (TDP chief). Did you meet or not? I sought answer...
"He said he will tell Chandrababu Naidu and that he need not explain in the meeting. We condemned that and walked out," Narasimhulu told mediapersons.
Narasimhulu said Naidu has taken a note of the issue and action would be taken against Reddy after the latter returned from his foreign visit.

Revant Reddy, arrested in connection with a so-called 'cash-for-vote' issue in the Telangana Legislative Council polls two years ago, brought "disrepute" to the party, Narasimhulu alleged.
Though the TDP had won 15 assembly seats in the 2014 elections in the state, some senior leaders had quit the party because of Revant Reddy's style of functioning, he alleged.
Reddy is "over-ambitious", he claimed.
Revant Reddy could not be reached immediately for his comments.
The TDP's strength in the Legislative Assembly has come down to three from 15 following defection of 12 MLAs to the ruling TRS in Telangana.
Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy declined to comment when his reaction was sought on reports that Revant Reddy would join the party.
