According to the Met bulletin, Purnea received 12.8 mm rainfall during the day while Patna and Gaya did not receive any in the past 24 hours. Bhagalpur received some rainfall.
Taibpur (Kishanganj) received 8 cm of rain while Bihta (Patna) received 6 cm. Thakurganj and Galgalia (Kishanganj) registered 4 cm, it said adding Kahalgaon and Bihpur (Bhagalpur) recorded 2 cm of rain.
The absence of rainfall not only raised the maximum temperature in these major cities but also increased the percentage of humidity level.
Bhagalpur registered five degrees celsius above normal maximum temperature while for Patna it was four degrees above normal. Gaya registered three degrees above normal, the bulletin said.
The humidity level hovered between 78 and 87 per cent in the morning in major cities while it was between 66 and 90 per cent in the evening in major cities, it said.
In its forecast, the Met department said that Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea are likely to witness partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershower tomorrow, the bulletin said.
