Union Territory Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius, up by two notches, the MeT report said here.
In Haryana, Bhiwani and Hisar recorded maximum temperatures of 35.4 and 35.5 degrees Celsius while Ambala's maximum went up three notches above normal to 35.9 degrees Celsius, and Narnaul's settled at 34 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded respective above normal maximum temperatures of 33.6, 34.7 and 35.3 degrees Celsius.
