Ambala too had a hot day at 38.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, while Karnal's maximum settled at 37.5 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, which received scattered rain in the evening, had a hot and humid day at 37.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar braved hot weather conditions with a maximum temperature of 38.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
